Lost in reverie

I got knocked on the head today…

Give me some time…

P.S. It hurts…

P.P.S. Bad…

It’s not the end of the world

To whom it may concern,

I know I am not in a position to offer comfort or solace as I am not in your shoes. But take it as the deepest and most sincere advice a friend can offer. Life is and never will be a straight path, there are obstacles and certainly detours that everyone has to make. So my advice from the deepest crevices of my heart to you is to take whatever my come along in your stride and to continue to strive on. Nothing should ever be allowed to break that indomitable spirit that we all have within ourselves. Wherever you may be headed, you will find new friends and you will form new bonds, but just remember to never give up and never forget what we once shared!

Strive on and don’t look back!

All the best!

Here’s wishing everyone who feels that their future lies in the balance today!

Good luck for the O’s!

Ah la la la la la life is wonderful…

And it takes no time to fall in love
But it takes you years to know what love is

Jason Mraz- Life is Wonderful

Apt, quaint and succint. If only more people would take the time to stop and reflect on what these simple words mean and imply, myself notwithstanding.

The emotional rollercoaster cascaded down on top of me today like a torrent. Anxiety, apprehension, disappointment, affection, rejection und so weiter… Is this ever going to end. This onslaught of emotions seems to have evolved into a daily occurrence! Depending on my mood, the weather, my friends and a whole host of other factors, the right or wrong combination of class, cca, friends, ogs and myself most importantly mesh to provide a whole host of highs and lows.

Class today was nominal, routine and oh so boring, so much so that nothing was worth blogging about. Chorale was a different story altogether. Somehow today everything seemed to click. My breathing improved tremendously (though Chris still thinks otherwise, thanks for the vote of confidence :D ), I managed to keep up with the rest of the Chorale, and we sang such meaningful songs today!

However, the day was also wrought with sadness and disappointment. A close friend decided to quit German today, further throwing my future with the subject into jeopardy. There is no questioning my love of the language, it is indescribable and ceaseless, yet when I take my grades into consideration, I have serious doubts as to whether I would be able the consistently score and attain the supremely high expectations I have of myself.

Why does it always have to come to this? A toss-up between ones’ passions and ones’ talents, between love and function. Why is nothing ever plain and simple like the movement of the planets or the ticking of a clock? Why does life seem to derive satisfaction from injecting dilemmas into every corner of our existence?

So many decisions to make, so many impressions to correct, so many hearts to set straight, so little space in my extremely limited mind!

Forgive me while I take some time to contemplate…

Two parts rice, two parts water…

Finding the perfect combination can be tough, two parts life, two parts mugging. Two parts friends, two parts work. Argh, I can’t seem to choose right now.

Much like rice and water, friendships and study are very much staples of the Junior College diet. Finding the ideal combination can be extremely daunting. I certainly hope I can strike a balance soon, especially while I still have the time to play with the different possibilities in my first few weeks in this rather alien environment.

So back to my usual status report. Today was dull OG-wise but my class was a different story. I crashed two econs periods, one lecture and one tutorial and got massive stares from bewildered classmates who wanted to kope the two full pages of notes I made. And Natalia was hilarious during Math, we spent 30 mins on question 11 of tutorial 1 because she had some queer doubts and we had to finally resort to Pan standing up to teach the class :D

The bane of the day was definitely PE! Argh, 2 rounds, 20 pushups, 10 wide-body pushups, 10 diamond pushups, 2 rounds, 40 crunches, static holds (30, 30, 45 secs) 2 rounds. That adds up to 2.4km, 80 reps and 1:45 min of static holds! DIE!

Gah, that’s all folks, and forgive the obvious lack of literary flourishing today, I am certainly not in the mood.
